Thisissuefeaturestwoarticles drawnfromWACworkshops offeredWinter2006.Inthe first,IrenaJosephsuggests waysofworkingwithnon nativewritersofEnglish.As wellasprovidingspecific guidelinesforrespondingto papers,sheprovidesanumber ofonlineresourcesforstudents. Isuspectfacultywillfindthem useful,too.Asecondworkshop articlediscussesgradingrubrics andoffersexamplesfroma varietyofdisciplinesand institutions.Alistofonline resourcesalsoaccompaniesthis article. Betweenthese"howto" piecesisanarticleaboutstudents' writingabilitiesincoursesinthe major.Itconsistslargelyof commentsdrawnfromacademic departments'assessmentreports thathavebeenpostedonthe UniversityAssessmentwebsite.
