Abstract
Purpose — This paper explores the open value concept of library digital personal information space and the developmental process of changing from Library 2.0 to Library 3.0. This change requires a deeper connection between the application of ''self-organizing'' space of internet and library information service. Design/methodology/approach — This paper is a combined case study and reasoning analysis that explores and summarizes the open concept, as well as the aggregation transformation path of Library Web Service. Findings — This paper presents an experimental path for the extension of library digital personal information space and developmental changes needed to convert from Library 2.0 to Library 3.0. Research limitations/implications — At present, the application of Web 2.0 to library information service is on the way to being practiced and further explored. One important question is whether Library 3.0 service concepts can express ''self-organizing'' concept values of the internet in detail in the future.
