Homework Assignment #4 Fall Semester 2004 Due Date: November 16, 2004
Write a perpetual calendar program, that is, your program should be able to produce a calendar of the month including the given day, range from 1/1/1801 to 12/31/9999 A.D., and add a star(*) on that day. Hint: 1. Pay attention on LEAP YEAR! Every year divisible by 4 is a leap year. But every year divisible by 100 is NOT a leap year. Unless the year is also divisible by 400, then it is still a leap year. 2. There is a command in UNIX, "cal", can produce calendar of a given month, you can check your program with this. 3. Historical Note: The Gregorian calendar was first adopted in Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain in 1582. This was done by dropping 10 days in October (Ottobre). In Great Britain (and to-become USA), the Gregorian calendar was adopted much later - 11 days were dropped in September 1752. 4. TA's word: 4.1 Please upload correct file format (.c), and on time. DO NOT upload other file formats, such as .rar/.cpp/.txt/.c.txt/.c.c/.c.bak/.c.~.
4.2 Second, we strongly suggest you to write your program on UNIX along with the compile "gcc", if you use other compiler on PC; please make sure that your program is able to be compiled with "gcc". 4.3 You are suppose to start your program with your name and student id as following: // EE08, u930101, 王小明 // EE2310 Homework 5 2004/11/10 4.4 You program should have clear comments on variables and control flows. At least one comment at the beginning of each loop is required. 4.5 You should use SPACEs and INDENTIONs properly and consistently to show your logic structure and make your code easy to read. (You can refer to your test book for what this is.) 4.6 You will lose your score up to 20% if you do not conform with the requirements above, as announced in our homework policy at the beginning of this course. 4.7 For any problem, you are welcome to TA hours to discuss with us.
